Come Away With Me Cocktail Recipe + 5 Engagement Tips

Are you looking for a dreamy cocktail that's actually pretty simple to make with ingredients you can find in your local liquor and grocery store no matter where you are??

I got you, fam!

Check out this amazing cocktail (recipe below, and demo above), as well as 5 engagement tips!

Come Away With Me

1.5 oz bourbon

0.75 oz brown sugar vanilla syrup*

0.75 oz lemon juice

dash of angostura bitters**

1 ml or 5-7 drops of orange blossom water**

1. Add all ingredients into your cocktail shaker with ice

2. Hard shake until the dilution is perfect! Meaning: that the cocktail isn't too intense in flavor in sour, sweet or astringent from the alcohol!

3. Strain over fresh ice

4. Garnish with edible flower

*Brown sugar vanilla syrup:

1. In a saucepan on med-high 1 cup of brown sugar, 3/4 cups of water, and either a 1/2 inch of vanilla bean (scored and opened) or 1 tsp of vanilla extract in a sauce pan until sugar dissolves

2. If using vanilla bean, let simmer on low for 10 minutes to allow vanilla to steep

3. Either strain vanilla or keep it in syrup

4. Store in fridge for up to 3 weeks as you make these again and again!

**Bitters and flower water can be found in either your bar mixer section in your wine department at your local grocery store, or in the international aisle!

- If you pick up orange blossom water, also grab some rosewater, you'll want it for a few of my other recipes!!

5 Virtual Event Engagement Tips:

1. Engage your audience from the moment anyone other than yourself is in the (virtual) room. That includes hosts, clients, team members alike! It is INFECTIOUS, when everyone is laughing and enjoying themselves while the rest of the group joins.

2. Address people by their name: If you encourage people to change their zoom title to their name, use it! Ask John how his trip went, or Suzie what kind of spirit she is using in her cocktail. People want to feel SEEN and the best way to do that is to talk to them, directly! That means people with the cameras off too! just because their camera is off, doesn't mean they aren't just as engaged as the people with their cameras on!

3. Gamify your event: Everyone loves to win, even if its for bragging rights! Encourage people to share (on their socials or in event), engage and even compete (in a friendly way) as a way to engage prior to, during and even after an event! This trick is a game changer in getting people to show up for your virtual event, as they want more points on the scoreboard!

4. Interactive Gifts: Nothing gets people more excited for an upcoming event than a welcome box! Include things they "can't" open yet, or that they get to prepare for the upcoming event to participate. This includes cocktail kits (see SHOP for ideas), game cards, snacks, themed accessories for parties with themes, a pen and notebook for educational events, or a mug for their coffee!

5. Live Entertainment: These days we are competing with the next shiny distraction from Netflix to phone notifications, give people what they want! Bring on LIVE entertainment to support your goals of a synergistic remote team or clients who feel appreciated. Nothing breaks the ice better than cocktails and connections!
